I grew up in the Pacific Northwest chasing a feeling I didn't have a name for yet. Martial arts, backpacking, snowboarding, meditation - I was drawn to the edge of what my body and mind could do, and to the cultures built around that pursuit. I fell in love with the lifestyle before I understood the science.
My first year in clinical practice as a sports LMT, I worked with some of the world's top athletes - NFL, NBA, and Olympic competitors. I saw what the body could do when it was trained right. And I started asking why most people never get close to that.
That question led me to the Flow Genome Project, where I spent five years on the front lines of peak performance research. What I got from that wasn't just theory. It was a front-row seat to how the best in the world actually design training environments for peak performance. Experiential, rigorous, and built to transfer into real life.
Five years later, I had my answer.
Flow is the optimal state where we feel our best and function at our best.
